PDF Print Music Sales on Jozzbeat.com
As musicians & composers ourselves we would LOVE to supply you with another easy avenue in which to sell your CD. We focus on Australian musicians living in Australia who independently sell their CD's. This doesn't mean that you can't be a signed artist here as long as your company is ok with you selling the CD's through us.
Why Do It?
It's simply another non-exclusive distribution channel for your music! As one of Australia and New Zealand's leading music education providers we attract a lot of traffic to this website. We currently track over 30,000+ visits (not 'hits') per annum. Along with our sister site MyJellybeansMusic.com.au which attracts around 36,000 visits per annum, we anticipate the JozzBeat.com traffic to continue to grow each year. We also actively engage with our website audience through a quarterly eNewlsetter that features our latest products (which could be your arrangement/composition!) as well as interviews with well known musicians/composers/arrangers. We also direct market online with Google Ads campaigns designed specifically to target print music consumers.
Our traffic comes from all over the world, but specifically from:
Music Educators across Aus./NZ
Parents & students in our Jellybeans In-Schools Program
Other general music ed traffic from the US, UK, Europe, Canada and other countries. This is all tracked from our site
How Does It Work?
We place your piece into your requested category. We can even make a new one for you if necessary! It is displayed with all other pieces in that category (for example 'Junior Concert Band') and once clicked on, the customer will be taken to a specific page for your arrangement/composition. This page will include:
- Information on the arrangement/composition (Grade level, musical features etc.)
- Title Artwork (as per our other pdf charts currently on the site)
- 1 min. demo track of your piece if you have one (these are placed on your specific piece page and are unable to be downloaded by customers) We give you a link that you can upload your audio demos to.
When a sale is made through our online e-Commerce engine, you will be notified and the purchase fee is deposited in the Jozzbeat merchant account. We retain 30% as per our agreement and the remaining 70% of the sale price is electronically delivered to your nominated bank account. Easy!
What Is The Cost To Me?
A standard 30% commission of the retail price of your chart is applied to any sale. This covers our e-Commerce transaction costs, hosting costs for your music and the opportunity for you to promote your music on our well patronised website. The remaining 70% of the sale price is electronically delivered to your nominated bank account. Easy!
There are additional set up costs to put your work(s) up on the website, and they vary depending on how much work you do before submitting, or how much you want us to do.
What Do I Need To Supply JozzBeat With? (Please see form below...)
We require you to send us the following:
Pdf's in either US Letter or A4 size. US Letter is the most useful as international customers often require this. Score and part files can be separate but it is preferred to have them already merged. We'll need some information on the piece and any audio demo you may have, however, don't sweat as there's a simple form you can fill out on our website that asks you for all the details that you need to send in.
-
- A single demo track of your piece will DEFINITELY help with sales. This is up to you to select and cut down the full piece into a demo that will promote your piece on the site. The demo MUST NOT BE LONGER THAN ONE (1) MINUTE IN DURATION and can be supplied to us in mp3, wav or aiff format. You can do this by clicking the widget below and sending directly to our Soundcloud account.
Send me your sounds
Publish versus Non-Publish
This service is not a publishing deal by any means, so you keep complete control of your copyright on the work(s). We are simply providing you with a distribution avenue for your works
What Music Can't Be Used?
We are unable to use any piece of copyrighted music that you don't have a current Print Music license with the copyright owner's permission. We can tell you how to get one of these, however you will need to bear the cost for the license. For example, you can't sell that great arrangement you did of "Yesterday" (Lennon/McCartney) if you don't have the Print Rights to do so! Also as pdf's can be sold around the world, your Print Music license will need to be either for the whole world ("International Rights Secured") or simply the Australia/NZ territory. The latter is a much easier and cheaper license to get! We can restrict purchasers from buying a piece that doesn't have a license for that region.
If you have obtained a Print Music License for an arrangement that you wish to sell, WE NEED TO SEE IT before we will put your arrangement on the site.
Where Do I Sign Up?
Well, there is no contract and no timeframe that you are required to leave your piece on our site. If you choose to no longer include your piece on our site then simply email us to take it off. To place your piece(s) on JozzBeat.com, please fill in the form below, include all required info and files and submit.
We look forward to promoting the great music that we produce here in our part of the world!
